Three leaf-litter toads collected within yards of each other almost disappear on a forest floor in Panama. Staying alive in the tropics, where nearly everything is food for something else, often calls for such trickery to fool a predator’s eye.
This was shot in Chobe Reserve in Botswana. The elephant scenes at sunset were enough to ensure that I will revisit many times. In this image, a young one was curious about our truck and was headed over to take a look.
This young European brown bear posed so cute for us. We couldn’t ask for a more precious and natural expression. The taiga forest is in Finland on the Russian border and is a marvelous spot for viewing these bears.
I was taking close-ups of one of the cubs lying in the water when I noticed mom approaching from the side. I waited until the cub showed between mom’s legs and was able to get a pretty neat and different photo.
